Looking for a great way to give your skin a fresh, beautiful glow? How about three? These quick, simple, and cost-effective masks are designed to rejuvenate your beautiful face and make your skin radiate. Made with basic and easy-to-find ingredients that you may already have in your kitchen, you’ll have healthy, glowing skin in no time!
The Honey Mask: This mask is for great for moisturizing and tightening pores. It works on all skin types and it’s super easy to make because there is only one ingredient! You guessed it: honey.
Ingredients: Honey, as much as desired
Directions: Apply the honey to your face, being careful to avoid the eye area. Leave on for 15 – 30 minutes and rinse with warm water. Finish with a cold water rinse to close those newly moisturized pores.
The Oatmeal Mask: Oatmeal has a soothing, anti-inflammatory agent that helps heal rough, itchy, and acne-prone skin. This mask gently sloughs off dead skin cells, creating a clean, smooth feel for naturally radiant skin.
Ingredients: 1 T. oatmeal 1 t. baking soda Water
Directions: Mix oatmeal and baking soda together with just enough water to create a paste. Apply to face, avoiding the eye area, and allow to set, about 15 minutes. Rinse with warm water, followed by cold water to close the pores.
The Banana Mask: If your skin has been damaged by the winter weather or been burned by the sun, the Banana Mask is the perfect remedy. It also serves as an anti-aging agent, keeping your skin fresh and youthful. (Note: This mask is rather rich and therefore not recommended for oily skin types).
Ingredients: 1/2 Banana (best if ripened)
Directions: With a fork, mash the banana until creamy, being careful not to overmash. Apply to face, avoiding the eye area, and let sit 15 – 20 minutes. Rinse with warm water, followed by cold water to close the pores.
Notes for optimal results: Before using a mask, wash your face to remove any dirt or makeup. Set up your whole environment for a relaxing experience. Put on some calming music and light some incense so that while you’re waiting for your mask to do its magic, you can use the time to unwind. Also, keep a glass of water next to you to stay hydrated. When you’re done with your facial, take a few moments to notice how great your skin feels, and how refreshed your spirit is.
